Battery Technology has already replaced generators used at “Tailgaters events”
With an added bonus. No noise! No toxic fumes. No oil changes. No carrying plastic fuel cans that don’t last more then a couple years.

Fuel costs now make batteries the best solution for portable power systems now.

Let’s leave petrochemical energy to the past!

Welcome to the 21st Century!

How’s that EV motor home working out?

What is energy?

Just to be clear batteries are not a source of energy. They are the same as a Jerry Can fuel of the dreaded petrochemicals. A means of energy storage. Energy is needed to charge the battery and if from the grid most of this energy comes from hydrocarbons. Solar, Wind, etc. only provides a small percentage of the grid power. Renewables are fine but on demand power is needed for a modern society to function. Such demand is met by peaking plants that likely burn natural gas.

Unless you have a "Mr. Fusion" on the back of your tow vehicle you are likely running it on petrochemicals and the amount of the same used to run your generator at the campsite is insignificant. Furthermore, unless full timing you are using way less energy at your sticks and bricks home while away, so likely a wash.

Words of wisdom:
Those that believe CO2 to be a pollutant that must be eliminated should hold their breath and stop emitting it.

They said that about gas. While sitting on their horse in the beginning of the 20th Century. Remember?

Looks like 46 just ban Russian Oil from the USA. Enjoy your price increase. Enjoy the war that will be waged over oil. Again.

Just like a lot of technology the RV world has been painfully slow to adapt. House batteries and charging systems are crap they sell you.
But if your a RV park lizard there’s always a 50a plug into.

Biden said Climate change was the greatest threat we faced. We should not be surprised by his actions.

RVers everywhere should already or soon will be to put it mildly a little miffed at the prospect of losing another of camping season, this time due to the ineptness of our dear leader and the resultant sky-high fuel costs.

Only a fool or someone that wanted to destroy our country would cut off the lifeblood of our civilization without having already provided a substitute energy source.

Now California wants to ban small gasoline engines? How do replace a generator? Do we buy an electric truck to plug our RV into it?

I'm not sure where things stand, but Maryland was trying to pass a law that anything powered by natural gas or propane would have to go away in homes/businesses. Meaning stoves, water heaters, generators, etc. Literally everything. No exceptions. And that would include EVERY building in the state. Think about that. What happens when the power goes out at the Hospital? The generator kicks on and all is well. Now what happens when the Hospital (included in the bill) doesnt have a generator to supply power? How many people will not survive that power outage? Or imagine being in the middle of surgery when the power goes out? We need to slow down the zest for over regulating everything in the name of protecting the planet. I'm all for recycling, and developing cleaner energy and all that. But we need to develop it before we cut off everything and hope that development will catch up.

Is Maryland going the way of Kalifornia?

It's more than sad that the lunatics are running the asylum. This is why a record number of Americans are voting with their feet and leaving for greener pastures.

By greener, I don't mean more WOKE, but places where residents are free to make sensible decisions for themselves and their loved ones!

Certainly not wanting to go political, but it does seem like any idea California or New York has, Maryland scrambles to follow them.

cOol it

You do know we aren`t talking about powering your typical radio. This is the logic That you will have to do without in the future. But let us know how your batteries will power 2 15,000 btu A/C on a 95 degree day in Texas for hours on end. I`ve heard it before "we use fans ". Tell that to the wife and see how lonely you`ll get.

Who listens to the radio?. :roflblack::roflblack:
Why would you want to be in Texas when it’s 95 in the first place?
Do you not have wheels on your Rv?
Why would you want to be locked up in your box because of the heat when you could move to a more ideal climate. And explore.
Isn’t that why you have an RV?

:signhavefun:

How did we go from "Too many people dying using generators" (because of CO and electric shock when used in rain/snow) to wishing people dead, politician bashing and making fun of people?

None of us should require adult supervision.

Your last sentence almost belongs in the "Jokes" thread.

If only it was true. :)
