Hey guys:
Andrea and Dave here from the Emerald City. Brand new to this RV-ing life. Decided to take the plunge because I'm tired of tent camping. Just bought a 2014 XLR 27HFS sight un-seen! Gulp. It's being shipped from Ohio tomorrow. "Are you nuts?" you are probably asking yourself. Let me explain why I did this: I have been shopping for a toy hauler for about 8 months now and scouring RVTrader. I saw this model and loved it for a few reasons: a) the pop-out and b) the separate bedrooms. It's very rare to find a toyhauler with a pop-out and separate spaces. I couldn't find the XLR's on the West Coast, they all seemed to be in Ohio, Indiana etc and I believe this is because Forest River has split into 2 corporations or something? Anyway, I couldn't find them here second-hand and the dealers here wanted $38k for one. So I reasoned that I'd be better off just buying one off of RV trader and getting it shipped. I'm still way under value for this area so I think I made the right decision. I will post again once we get it.
We just bought a 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel over the 4th of July weekend. LOVE it so far. Hubs insisted on diesel - blah - but it's super quiet and not smokey. So far so good.
We are hauling a 2006 Harley Davidson Night Train and a 2009 Polaris RZR that hubs just couldn't live without.
Another issue I wanted to bring up: Are there any other Washington/Oregon events? I noticed that there is a FROG event at Cannon Beach in August. I was just wondering if someone wanted to meet up at Elk Heights or Taneum for some RV-ing fun.
OK more information and photos coming - thanks guys! Looking forward to lots of fun in this.:trink39:

Welcome from a little north of you, on Camano Island.
FR isn't split into 2 corporations.
Most of their different brands' factories are in the Midwest.
They did open some factories in Oregon.
So some brands are split between the two regions.
A couple of examples are Wildcat and R-pod.
