Hello, I am excited to be a part of this group and I do have a couple questions for those that are experienced in RVing?
I recently bought a 2015 30 ft.Grey Wolf and it sits permanently on a spot near a Lake. Unfortunately the slide out has water damage and the floor is ruined all the way around the edges close to the outer wall.. When we look outside under the slide there are no mechanisms or hard cover, just a black tarp like material with what feels like a lumpy type of insulation inside.Almost like a mulch feel... So now we need to replace the flooring, and Im wondering if anyone has had this type of issue, and if we should cut out this black tarp material and replace with some sort of other insulated product under the new flooring??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! lisa

I had a 1999 Ultralite hybrid and the floor was 1/8 inch luan, 1.5" Styrofoam and 1/8 luan glued up as a sandwich - actually strong if it does not get wet. I don't know that that is what your slideout is made from, but it's a good guess. On my floor there were a few (every 2-4 feet) cross supports.do

Welcome and good luck

THANK YOU!

Thank you, just got a quote for $4000 to repair the damage... Not interested in spending that kind of money to fix the problem, the photos were helpful;, Lisa

This is way too common. If handy at all this can be repaired by yourself. Suggest that once repaired you would attach a flange of some sort to lower wall of slide extending half inch below floor level. Rain can than flow down and drop off to ground. As it is now rain flows down outer walls of slide and wicks under the slide rotting the floor boards. First thing one should do when purchasing a new or used RV.

Can you please post a pic or two of what you did if possible?

Thanks!
