So. I finally started to recover my seats, 2012 Georgetown 350TS. I took the seats out last year and got prices for having them recovered, 2 cantinas chairs and a euro recliner. Was quoted nearly $4k to have them reupholstered. Replacement seats are $2800 delivered, but they still have the crappy ultra leather that will peel again.

So I did some research over the summer and learned about sewing machines. Ended up buying a portable walking foot sewing machine with some upgrades to make it easier to use. It is a Consew 206RL with some Sail Rite upgrades, paid $650. And came with some extra feet for sewing the piping. Bought the marine vinyl from Sail Rite along with the thread and needles from Sail Rite.

So I took the covers off the drivers seat, cut the thread and took all henpieces apart to make new patterns. So right now I have all the patterns for the seat bottom cut. I’m going to make the seat bottom insert a dark brown and diamond stitch to update the look. I’ll get some pics of the colors and patterns before I start sewing. I’m waiting on some 1/4” “sew foam” for padding on the vinyl.

If I priced it out correctly I’ll be all in at around $1500 that includes the sewing machine. This will get me all 3 seats recovered.
I’ll post pics of the progress as I go. Once I have all the seats done and I’m happy with the results I’ll redo the dinette seats.

I’ll get some current pics posted shortly.

Here are some pics so far.
The first 2 are of the seats and what they look like.
The 3rd one is all the patterns and the new colors
The 4th one is the diamond stitch layout, they are 1 1/2” diamonds.
The 5th one is the seat back and the new design for that. Was never really happy with the look of that. The lower middle will be the brown diamond stitch. And the upper part that I have markered off will be brown as well. Not sure if that will be diamond stitch yet.

Another quick update. I got the bottom seat cover sewn together. Still need to see the skirts on that cover the seat base. Pretty happy so far for my first sewing job.

Very nice work. I’m curious what the actual seat looks like while you’ve stripped off the covering you’re redoing.

I’ll get a picture soon. It’s basically just a steel frame and foam.

Ok, got the frt seat bottom finished. Turned out pretty good in my opinion! Now to get started on the seat back.

Nice work again. BTW…your new look goes well with the carpet in your house.

LOL, thanks.
I’m hoping it goes with the inside of the MH as well. I think it will. I know once this is done I’ll be redoing the dinette seats so they match.

Get ready. I think I hear other members placing their order requests. :D

I am playing around with this idea if they turn out good enough that someone would be OK with the results. I’m sure there is a couple flaws as I’m not an expert. But with a full time job it would be a couple month job.

WOW! Looks great. I can see a side business happening in your future. Looking forward to seeing when all complete.

Ok. Just got the frt seat 90% together. I still need to hog ring the loose material where it wraps around the seat. And I need to do the armrests next. Then the opassenger seat and euro recliner. It turned out pretty good. Not sure how happy I am with the fit of the seat back? Its a bit loose in the middle. But I think that’s just how it fits, because the old covers were loose in that same area as well.

Thanks everyone. I have decided I’m redoing the upper part of the seat back. It just doesn’t look right, and I know I won’t be happy with it. So I’m eliminating the upper brown part. I’ll have to cut a new piece and cut out the old one. In the end I think it will look better.

I'm next

Would you consider making a set for me? We were quoted 5k for just the 2 front seats this summer. It's crazy out there for seat cover pricing.

I have a 2015 FR3 and yes ultra leather failed for me too. I found a individual that did all of the work and provided the marine grade materials bone color and brown just like original. I just drove it over to him and he did all the work. $2500.
This was for 2 captain chairs, sofa and dinette booth.
