We just bought a 2019 Rockwood 8328bs. And we are having a hard time figuring out the hot water. It didn't come with a Manuel so we have done some googling and are just confused. Its probably a simple click of a button. Its a tank less water heater. Any help would be appreciated.

When asking for help, it's always helpful by posting make and model number of the item.
FR's divisions installs a number of different tankless water heaters in their RVs.

I don't know your camper, or your WH, however both the electric & propane heating mode are selected from switches on the same panel as to interior lights / water pump / slide controls / etc. If you have such a panel, check to see if the WH is mentioned.

The OP has a tankless water heater so no electric side.

Very well. The OP has a Rockwood camper, which is made in the same facility as my Flagstaff. The propane side of my WH is controlled with a control panel button, which is not necessarily the way someone used to throwing switches at the heater itself would have checked. Just trying to be helpful.

I found the tankless hot water heaters are very picky on water pressure. When we took our new 2023 Alpha Wolf 26DBH out for the first two times, we had problems. With the propane on and the hot water heater on, we had to turn on the bathroom sink AND the kitchen sink to get hot water. We suffered through that on the first trip (glad we had sewer hookups). I found out after the same thing on the second trip that if I adjusted the water pressure up to 55 lbs, then it worked great with only 1 sink.

The idea came to me because my daughter had a tankless hot water heater in her brand new home and she had very low pressure at her new home. She had to turn on 2 faucets to get it to kick in. Of course she could not increase her water pressure, but I thought lets see what happens.

It worked. Good luck.

There might be a switch in the water heater compartment on the outside of your camper. It it's like mine, you turn that switch on, then another switch inside gets turned on and a separate controller sets the water temperature. Then, when using hot water you only turn on the hot water side of your faucet or shower. I have a 2025 Rpod so things are probably different. Hope this helps.

The OP has a tankless propane only water heater so no separate switches, like on Suburban 2-way water heaters.

We also have a propane only tankless water heater. It has a switch in the water heater compartment and another power switch in the control panel where you set the temperature. We have also found that it works best to set the temperature you want and only turn on the hot water faucet. If it's too hot or too cold, adjust the temperature controller instead of turning on the cold water. It works flawlessly for us like this, steady shower temp for as long as you want it.

the on /off switch may have a blade fuse behind it may be open take a voltmeter and see if you have a 12 volt on the out side heater red wire

We have a tankless water heater which runs on propane with an electronic ignition. On the water heater itself there is a small red resettable fuse.
There is also a switch on the control panel to turn the water heater on.
Open the outside panel and see if you can identify the make/model of that water heater so that someone who may have that heater will try to help.

Welcome to the forum!

Not so much water pressure as water flow. My S&B tankless needs at least 1GPM flow to operate. This keeps the water heater from overheating the water.

Make sure the rocker switch on the tankless WH itself is in the ON position, that the "gas" WH switch on your interior control panel is on, and that your tankless temperature thermostat control is also ON with a reasonable temp like 110 selected (usually located in the bathroom so you can adjust the shower temp). If still no hot water, check the fuse/breaker on the tankless unit as well as the WH fuse in your camper's fuse panel. You should also make sure you have good LP pressure and there is not air in the line to the tankless unit. Run other gas appliances to make sure LP supply/pressure is not the issue. Lastly, make sure the exhaust port on the tankless unit is not obstructed or clogged. The unit will shutdown from poor exhausting.
