2014 Georgetown 321ts, 50 Amp,

Hooked to shore power, all works fine.

Disconnect shore power, nothing works, not even ceiling lights and can’t start generator.

Two 12v Duracell AGM batteries, purchased less than six months ago test good, replaced all push in fuses in the box above the batteries, no help. Someone suggested it might be the Inverter, bought and installed new Xanterra ProWatt SW 1000 inverter, no difference.

Need help please! At Witt’s end and set to set out soon on a trip.

Thanks in Advance for any and all suggestions and help.

look for :
a) battery disconnect switch
b) 12v circuit breaker near battery
both will stop battery from providing 12v power to the Electrical panel

plus.. they can/will stop the battery from getting charged
------------------------------------------
If lights or water pump work on shore power
then your converter is working
leave it connected for a few hours to see if the battery will charge up

battery will get damaged if you don't maintain it correctly you don't want a lead acid to get too low in charge for a long period of time.... Keep a maintenance charger or solar on it
OR disconnect it so parasitic loads don't drain it

Fully charge the battery ... leave it charging for a full day OR more (depends on size)
make sure battery disconnect and breaker is allowing battery to get charged... Use a multimeter

if you don't have a multimeter ......... only cost a few dollars for a DIY version and will be invaluable for other testing too

A simple test is to have a 12v lamp .... disconnect the battery cable and any solar (test at night).
Then touch the wires of the 12v lamp onto the ends of the cable.
so they will be getting 12v converter power .... (connect shorepower)

if the lamp glows power from the converter is getting to battery, disconnect switch and breakers are working

If you don't have a full size RV hookup for storage you can use a extension cord plugged into a normal household 120v outlet ... use a ADAPTER for your electrical panel. I will allow the converter to keep battery charged and you can use /test the 120v appliances (mainly ONE at a time for testing or maintenance)

Look to make sure a 12 volt DC circuit breaker somewhere has not tripped. These won't be in your electric panel. See this faq thread for more info and types/locations.

Good thoughts and thank you.

When I’m stationary I due keeps charger on the batteries but will check them again

Regarding the 12v disconnect. There are two items above the batteries, they have a button on them that when pressed a plastic flag comes out. I believe these are switch on this Georgetown. Pushing the flags back in is the reset I believe.

My son get home tomorrow, he’s the mechanic. I’ll show him what has been posted.

Thank you again

Again, thanks for your help. It turned out to be a problem with the Disconnect Switch. All is right with the world again.

Some really good and helpful folk on this forum.
