I had an RV Tech install an RV Tankless Water Heater, KINGRVER, Propane Gas, DC 12V, replacing a leaking 10 gallon water heater. The unit heats for about 10 to 15 minutes then turns cold, turn the faucet off for 10 seconds, and then heats again??? The sink in the kitchen works fine.

Welcome to the forum! I see it is your 1st couple posts.

Let me make sure I understand what you are saying... If you turn on the hot water (at any faucet) the heater will light and produce hot water for about 10-15 minutes?
After that time period, the flame goes out, the water gets cold and it requires you to shut off the FLOW for 10 seconds and then it fires back up and begins heating. (without cycling the on/off switch?)

If correct, maybe there is a timer cycle in the control module that keeps the heater from firing continuously after a certain time?
15 minutes is a long time to run hot water continuously in an R/V.

What did the R/V tech say?
Have you contacted the manufacturer of the water heater?

I know on the Girard tankless water heaters they had a 20-minute limit and then would shut down as a safety feature.

Not on my Gen 1 Girard. It will run as long as you have water and propane.

The OP needs to contact Kingrver and ask for technical help. KingRVer

Ours was the Gen 2 so probably an update, River Stone switched to the Truma brand and even upgraded ours for us, really pleased with the Truma

We have a Salem 24 View which also has a tankless hot water heater. What we found is that we set it to the temperature we want in the shower, in our case 100F. When we take a shower we don't use any cold water, just the hot. This works fine.

The problem seems to be that if you don't use enough hot water, the unit overheats and faults out, then you either have to turn it off or wait for it to reset.

We also find that if you turn off the shower, the unit. shuts down. When you turn the shower back on there is about 30 seconds of hot water then there is about 10 - 15 seconds of cold before the heater is fully running.

When we first got it, we were told to set it like you do for a regular hot water heater. With both hot and cold water on, there wasn't enough water running through the unit and it faulted out ... very annoying. With only using hot water, it seems to work the way it should. We do the same for the kitchen and bathroom sink faucets, only turn on the hot water.

That is our experience.

This is the same way we use ours and haven't had any problems with it turning off.
