We just purchased a new Sandpiper 3440 BH. We had a 2006 8229ss and we loved it. The new 5th wheel is a good 10’ longer, so it will take some learnin’ to get used to. We are going on a short trip with just the two of us to learn all of the new tech stuff like the “auto level” and how to get a signal with the king WiFi booster. It will be fun. I’m just glad to be getting out again after sheltering (like everybody else I’m sure). Any camping, even if it’s a tent and a sleeping bag is better than being stuck at home all of the time, Right?:signhavefun:

I upgraded from a 17' single axle travel trailer to a 26' double axle travel trailer. Also changed from Dodge Grand Caravan to Durango for tow vehicle. Had to drive 400 miles one way to pick up new trailer. Then on return trip towing new trailer had strong 30+ mph head/side winds for over 150 miles to our first campsite (from the dealership, the day we picked up the trailer). Got there after dark. So my first time backing into a campsite with both a new 9' longer trailer and new tow vehicle was in the dark! Luckily it was an easy back-in spot and I just set a lantern on the ground at the corner of the driveway and just did like I always do and used that spot to rotate the wheels around.

CONGRATULATIONS on the new trailer!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase of a new Sandpiper 3440 BH. Enjoy and :signhavefun: Later RJD
