Perry Mason "The Case of the Missing Steps"

The "RE" in my parents number was "REGENT".
These names and numbers made it easier for the Operators that would connect users from one "hub" to another. Each "hub" had it's own 2 letter name.
It was another time.....LOL

I read the book that the Long Long Trailer movie was made from. Hilarious! I also noticed in pictures about the movie that the 40' trailer had a rolling full size tire and wheel mounted in the middle of the rear to get through dips and the front hitch had a set of dolly wheels that took the weight so that cars back then could pull them!

More interesting, do you remember what the word was that the letters were part of? Ours was LOgan... My mom still had the same number when she passed a few years back... :)
You beat me to it! I was going to say my childhood number was GLenview-9 3360. My dad's number was TUxedo-1 something.
Remember calling "time"? I think ours was CApitol-4 9000. Seemed appropriate, since the number was in St. Paul, Minn.

K-R.

PA for Parkview.
Funny thing... we have a Parkview Liquors in town. Ya gotta wonder if the phone person who came up with the Parkview exchange was a customer at the liquor store. [emoji1787][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji23]

Ever see little kids in a museum and they see an old rotary phone and ask grandma or grandpa....."what's that thing" ???

Ha, I remember when my daughter was way younger and we were at some relatives watching their television. She asked me what those round things were on it. I looked and assumed she meant the rabbit ears and explained it was an antenna.

She told me she knew what the antenna was, but what were the other round things.

I had to laugh when I realized she had not ever seen a tv at that point in her life with channel knobs.

Everything had been push button digital to her.

My daughter once asked me how she could play those big black CDs.

Ours was NT-3???

I was 5 weeks from birth.....

The FROG rally in Gettysburg this summer showed the movie, "the Long Long Trailer" at movie night.

While we were up in Saginaw, Minnesota, the c/g we were at had the exact model as the one in the Long Long Trailer....it was in fantastic shape on the outside, but you couldn't get in to see the inside.
