Just added a reel to hold my power cord and it save space. Might need a little more practice getting rolled up a little neater.. Got mine from Amazon but it carried a lot places.
It was about 30 degrees when I rolled up and it wasn't bad and that part of the reason it looks like it does. Just had to lay out the cord so went straight into the real and not off to one side. If it less than 30 degrees I probably won't be camping.
You could also buy the powered one for 599.99 and that would solve the problem reeling it in.
That tight of a coil will play **** with the life of that cord.
The absolute best way to wrap up any cord is called the "over under" method. Every single cord and hose I have gets wrapped this way including my shore line. It relieves stress on it as the turns in effect go both ways. But the biggest advantage is it will never knot up. I can take my 100 foot, 10ga extension cord, drop the coil on the ground, grab the proper end, walk away and pull the entire cord out without a single tangle or knot
This video shows the technique. Its on a video cable, but it works the same. Theres a bit of talking, the good stuff starts at about 1:25
Everyone has different ideas on their own mods to their RV. My Silverback came with one of those cord reels in the main storage bay and it was the first thing I removed. Takes up too much space and too user unfriendly during my couple of times using it. I'm a truck bed cord holder kind of guy as well. You seem happy with it so far.
