Power only works when 30AMP Fuse is Removed

I wish to amend my advice to SaraBleu and all tt owners.
You need the battery to operate the brakes on your tt. So it probably should be fixed before you tow on the road.

For those who were confused, like the original poster, I too had the 30 amp burn out constantly. I learned that I could power the camper by removing the 30 amp fuse and using shore power only. After upgrading to a smart converter, which turned out to be simply an upgrade that did not address/resolve the primary problem, the 30 amp fuse stopped burning up when plugged into shore power. However, the camper still had to be plugged into shore with the 30 amp fuse removed for anything the work. The battery tested good but still would not power the camper alone. This was the constant symptom since my last update. Today, I replaced the automatic reset circuit breaker. The 30 amp fuse does NOT have to be removed now for the camper to work. I am charging to the battery to see if now it will work the camper by itself now.

remove the cover again and post pictures of the converters wiring

AND the battery cable connections
Battery cables are correct. The converter is working properly and fully assembled. A picture wouldn't show much. My problem started BEFORE changing out the converter. That turned out to be an upgrade only.

It is confusing because they first said they only had 12v power when the fuse was removed. Then said the fuse burned out over and over but found a bad connection at the battery that was repaired.

Again, this is an odd ball converter in the way the fuses protect the converter from the battery. On a typical converter, there are TWO reverse protection fuses. This seems to only have one and then a second named "12v main " which like Titan Mike, I believe to somehow be protecting the power distribution fuse block back to the battery.

This particular converter has some special wiring concept that is mentioned in the Jayco forum link I referenced and I don't believe we all have the whole story about what's going

In the beginning the fuse burned out whether it was hooked to shore power and/or battery. By the time I made the post I was no longer even trying battery there was zero power with battery only. See today's update for more info.
