Replacing the hose is no more difficult than changing a light bulb. Each end screws off and on at the regulator and tank. No tape or thread goo needed. Use an open-end wrench, loosen, unscrew, remove the old one, hand thread the new one in, and tighten with the wrench.Thank you, everyone, for the info and advice! Very much appreciated. The gas level gauges were given to me and attached by another customer I met at the dealership. I also concluded that they were adding stress to the hoses and seriously got in the way when taking off/putting on the black plastic tank cover. I removed them. I'll take the advice to report the issue to FR, but get someone local and not the dealership to replace the hose. I haven't been too impressed with the dealership in any capacity. I'll read the thread about the auto change over valve. Super helpful!
And folks pay good money to get this stuff done. I'll never understand that.
