Ugh. Not having a good luck with this propane tank. A few months ago, the regulator went bad and got replaced under warranty.
Yesterday, I smelled propane when I unscrewed the yellow cap of the filler valve. Weird, it's been awhile since I had the tank filled at Costco. So that smell "after refill" is not the cause. So I took out my sniffer and tested the filler valve. I covered the valve, with my fingers, while the sniffer inserted to it. Yep, it took about 30 seconds to set the alarm on one bar and by 50 seconds alarm was on highest setting of five bars.
Next appt available is in two weeks. For the meantime I'll just keep the yellow cover on and main shut off valve closed. I'm not gonna refill tank yet. I'm pretty sure shop needs tank emptied to replace the fill valve.
Wow, two propane tank issues within a year. The good thing is it would be covered under warranty as long as leak is confirmed by a shop.
BTW- anyone knows what these two wire are for?(left side of picture, blue/ clear end caps)
Anybody having same observations?
