QRZ Hams, checking to see if there is in interest in forming a 40 or 80 M FROG net. Will need to find freq that is good for all classes and open as will as time and days to call net. Good way to check mobile regs and have some on air input. WB4FSN

Wish I could - was a General Class back in the 80's and 90's and even ran a MARS station out of NCO BEQ in Germany. I let my ticket laps in the late 90's.

If you are Dennis, you can get your General Class license back even though you let it lapse. All you have to do is take the Technician Class exam again and show proof of having been licensed. An old copy of your license will do in most cases. You will not have to take the General Class license exam. I am a VE and have had only one person do this so far. You can check it out by going to ARRL.org and doing a search "restore old license". I checked the license and your old call is still available if you want it. All you have to do is request a vanity call after you get a new call. There is no longer a charge for vanity calls either.

Roger, I'm not a 80M person but would entertain 40M. Anything above 7.175 will work. Need to check out what other nets are operating on 40 and what times and days they are active. I'll try to do a little research in the meantime. You may remember me from last years Bamaganza.

I usually don't take a HF radio on the road but will be next week from Service park near Silas AL I'm usually traveling to visit relatives and don't have the time for radio playing.

Roger, you might take a look at this for a list of known nets. Looks like 7.251 is Southcars net, 7.197 is Norcars net, 7.255 is Eastcars net, 7.265 is SATERN net, and 7.240 is 7.240 Club net would not be good since they all operate multiple hours. Also avoid 7.200, I listened to it and I thought I was hearing Channel 19, just like 14.313.

We also might consider a roundtable rather than a net initially. I listen to the guys on 14.206 (or nearby) every morning (propagation is so poor they don't show up every day lately) and they move up to 40M in evenings.

Brand new to Ham, just got my ticket in March KM4SBS. I do want to have a rig in my rig. At this time I just have a 2 meter handheld.

Me too

I'm interested. It might be good to know up front that the net could move up 5-10, or something similar in case the established frequency isn't available.
