Hi folks. Question on those of you with Starlink. Is there a 'best location' to run the wire from the dish to router? Also, anything else we should know? We boondock some but with a 2023 FR3 30DS we know about potential battery drain, but figure we have a day before running the generator. Thanks for any advice. BTW, the MH is stock so no smart TV's

We have a folding table we use for our routers and charging station for our phones, iPad, and electronic items which sets next to the couch which is in our large slide out. We run our cable through the bottom corner of the slide which is just perfect for our needs.

Battery drain can be an issue with Starlink, depending on usage.
I've had mine since July this year. Have added a 12v-57v " boost power supply and measured current draw ranges from 3 apps at idle to 9 amps while heating early in morning. Snow melt can possibly cause 10+ amp draw. Good news is these higher current draws are of limited duration and average runs around 3-4 amps.

I have my Starlink set to "sleep" when I do which saves at least 8 hours of battery use.

I have my "dish" on a pole that mounts on my ladder using Flagpole Buddy mounts. Gives me a clear view of sky when next to another RV in a park, near trees or large bushes, and even "more clear sky" when taller trees farther away used to show as odstructions during setup. I can go up as high as 18' above ground with my 6-piece metal pole. (It's a. 1.5" Dia. Stainless Steel Pole with screw together sections that have very little flex unlike most flagpoles.)

I prefer to not put dish on ground or tables as the cable could be snagged by people or pet's feet.

I made a bulkhead pass through port just below taillight that is capped when cable is not passing through from my outside kitchen where I mounted router and power supply.

Tomorrow I'm adding an inexpensive wireless remote on/off switch to power supply so when not using starlink I can just shut off and easily power it on when wanted. Even less power consumption than during sleep and the switch draws <10 ma in standby.

Pics when complete tomorrow if it doesn't rain too hard.
