Re-Sealing Trailer

Does anyone re-seal all the windows, doors and joints of their trailer to prevent leaking?

You should have the roof resealed and cleaned yearly to maintain your warranty and if you have an insurance claim they will require proof that you maintained the roof in good conition or they will deny any claim. you can reseal around the windows with a caulk gun and some good silicone. so to anwser your question- YES!

Check the caulking on the entire trailer every year. I clean my roof yearly and condition my roof every other year.

Do you caulk over top of the old... Or do you scrape it off and apply new? Also... When sealing the roof... Do you mean... Just the seams, or do you spread something over the whole roof?

I actually paid a mobile RV repair to reeal the roof, I don't think they removed the old sealant. they resealed all seams and around all edges and vents/ac/etc. They also cleaned with a cleaner and brooms first and applied a conditioner when they were done. They charged me 200 hundred dollars and come to my house to do it, very reasonable. They used Dicor sealant I think just like from the factory.

No need to remove the old caulk on the roof. Use Dicor Lap Sealant on the seams & around everything but your A/C on the roof & use Proflex on the sides. These seem to be the most used products out there. Your roof should be checked at least once a year & it wouldn't hurt to check the sides yearly. Don't just check the windows. Check around your lights & everything that was ever caulked.
