When we dry camp and everything is off WITH the exception of the refrigerator and detectors...our battery is dead by morning. The next night we shut the refrigerator off and the battery was still at 2/3'rds.... Thoughts??
Thanks.

Your fridge needs 12v to run propane side.
So that would be normal.
how old is the battery?

Battery is two years old. We live in AZ, and I know temps are rough on car batteries.

How are you recharging the battery if your dry camping?

Are you using the convertor in the RV to charge the batteries with the RV connected to 110VAC from the generator? The 12V battery charge side of most generators are not as effective as using the convertor.

Since the gas side of the fridge requires 12v it will run the battery dead.
To many times running the battery dead will kill the life of the battery drastically.
Assuming your getting a "full" charge the battery may be getting weak from being fully discharged.

We are, actually this site and TURBS helped us with that a year ago.

Best place to ask...why are two 6 volt better?

You'll get more amp hours from 2 6 volts then you will from one 12v

I'm with oc the battery is probably the issue from running dead.

Also using the converter to charge your battery via your normal shore power plug in is best. "As stated "

The proper way to charge the battery and explained why the generator wasn't doing it....
We had to make a special plug/ ground for the Honda.
