The symptom was almost no water pressure coming out of the flush nozzle when flushing the toilet.

Not knowing what was wrong, I bought Thetford Kit 31738 Aqua-Magic Nozzle Kit (glad I did as you will see later); Thetford Kit 31705 Aqua-Magic V Water Module Kit; and on a lark the Thetford kit 19289 Aqua-Magic/Aria Classic/Aurora/and Style "Water Saver" hand spray wand.

After disassembling the toilet and examining the Water Module; the reason for the pressure loss turned out to be a small calcium nugget jammed into the exit port of the Water Module flush valve. (see Photos)

I did notice that the new Valve's exit port was MUCH larger than my old one and the nugget would not have clogged it.

I drilled the old valve open to closer match the new valve port and reinstalled the old one.

I DID replace the nozzle however as it was TOTALLY redesigned MUCH better. More in post #2

Why Change the nozzle?

The lower nozzle was the old one. It was flimsey, overly long, and kinked.

It was held in place with an O ring and friction.
It was a water leak waiting to happen.

The new one is Heavy Vinyl tubing and just the right length.

I decided to add a shutoff valve while I had the Thetford off the base.
I used a Gatorbite PEX valve.

The problem with the wand surfaces

I installed the hand wand as per the directions to the flush valve.
After snipping off the end of the built in barb, I hooked up the hose.

While drilling out the nozzle opening to the dimension of the new valve will prevent future build ups of calcium and the flush is very strong, it takes so much pressure away from the wand; it is almost useless.

Frustrated, it was off to the home store for parts to make a tap directly off the feed pipe. I needed "another" shutoff valve in case the hand wand started to leak. (there would be no way to isolate it and we would then lose the toilet.)

It works awesome. Strong flush and wand spray even on the OEM water pump.

Oh, don't forget to dose your black tank with deodorant (double dose) before you pull the toilet. You will be happy you did! :roflblack:

Is any of this possible without pulling the toilet out?

With the Aqua Magic V there are only 2 bolts that hold the toilet to the floor. There was not enough room in my installation to get tools behind the toilet without removal. It really made the process easier to have it out. Just put a rag in the hole to make sure nothing falls into the hole.

The water spray hose kit came with two types of toilet to floor seals and in my camper the one with the square sides was used.

Low Toilet Water Pressure

I was having a problem with low water pressure on my toilet. After reading the first solution I got to thinking, what if I had something blocking my line? What could I do to unblock without a to much disassembly. Then it came to me why not blow out my line from the toilet flow back. So I rigged up a flex line on the end of my air hose, bleed off any water in my line and then blew air from the toilet line outlet which cleared my problem.
Next I will sanitize and flush my cold water line. Everything works great.

Herk did you get the Gatorbite valve at HD. I have to replace the fill valve Thetford 31705, due to the valve desiding when/when not to, shut off. Going to install a cutoff while im at it.

Thanks, I dont know why they dont have cut off valves, in the first place! Guess its all bout that $$$$$$

Aqua Magic V

All,

FYI, I just purchased an Aqua Magic V from Amazon. The unit came with a solid plastic hose from the water valve to the toilet bowl inlet. It may be only the replacement units have this and not the manufactured RV units. Who knows. Just thought I'd let everyone know.
