RoadActive Suspension or Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System. I am looking at adding one of these to my 2024 F150 STX. I'm just curious if anyone has advice. I'm pulling my 2024 Forrest River Grey Wolf 26DBH and plan on taking a trip several states away. I was leaning toward the Timbren, but now I'm hearing some great things about the RAS system. Any advice would be appreciated.

Let me add another to your list.

I installed the 1000lb. class Sumo Springs on the rear of my 2023 F150. Your camper is a little longer and a little heavier but more or less in the same general tow needs class.

The 14th gen F150s are plenty capable re tow specs but the ride is on the soft side. A weight distribution hitch takes care of squat but I wanted something for body roll.

The Sumo Springs have 1-1.5" before engagement, so you still get that nice ride empty but firmed up when loaded. Easy install, silent, no moving parts, no adjustments, or maintenance needed.

They did exactly what I wanted them to do.

OK, I'll do some research on those also. Thanks

I like the idea of the adjustability of the RAS. I found a used set of the 1000# rated SumoSprings on the F150 forum. Fairly easy install, even for a 68 yo (at the time). No change in ride even on potholed roads. Rarely thought about but allows me to not need to use a WDH except for anti sway on interstates.

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the Towing and Tow Vehicles sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to Tow Vehicles and are not general community questions.

I also installed SumoSprings on my F150 and love them.

I have used Timbren Sumos and Aircell all basically the same. I liked them once installed you can forget. I really liked but I am considering airbag this time

I did both. The RAS is active all the time and does help smooth out bumps, the Sumo/Timbrens, are only active under load. The Sumo will help stabilize the truck under load as they act like sway bars, the RAS do not.

The way I would do it based on experience, Sumo on new trucks, RAS on older trucks with worn springs and Sumo if too much sag. The RAS helped with our 5th wheel to take the bouncy bounce out of the ride from flopping springs and leveled the truck when hitched up.
