Still and Newbie but enjoying my 2109s none the less. A key reason we choose the 2109S is that in road mode the trailer is plenty spacious with nearly 3 feet of space between the sofa and the kitchen cabinets. However, a video I watched about this model and sofa said that the sofa should not be used when in road mode because the sofa is not supported unless the slide is out. I assume that since the slide is about 8 inches higher than the floor this may be true.

Can anyone tell me if this is true? Has anyone made a support that would allow for the sofa to be used in road mode?

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the TT/5th Wheel section's Rockwood sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to a Rockwood product and are not general tech questions.

I asked that exact question at our local dealer and was told it is NOT recommended to sit in the sofa unless fully extended. I was disappointed as you note in road mode we wanted to be able to sit on the sofa when stopped at a rest stop. I am researching on the ability to support the front of the slide when it is retracted so it can be used. There is a kick panel below the sofa that can be removed to access the control unit and slide. If you put that panel on hinges then it can be easily accessed when in. Maybe some kind of Mini jack support might work.

Picture? Not sure what you mean by eight inches above. I would think the movement should be parallel.
My question would be if it can handle the rigors of bouncing down the highway why not sitting in it when not moving.

Looking at a sales video it looks like a Schwintek slide. I believe Lippert makes them so they should be a good contact for that.

My wardrobe closet is a Schwintek and never even gave it a thought about not being supported during travel and it sits above any support while traveling.
