The instructions for the DISH Tailgater say to place the unit "reasonably level".
At too many of the sites we stopped at on our last trip, while the pad itself was reasonably level the surrounding space was anything but level. In order to keep the Tailgater "reasonably level" I had to block up the legs of the KING tripod - sometimes 3-4-5 inches. So I modded the tripod to make the legs adjustable length.
1.25" OD aluminum tube with 1/4" holes centered @ 3/4". Now I should have plenty of adjustment available for a slope before even thinking of any blocking.
