Hi, I have a Forest River Sanibel 2015. I need to change a Schwintech motor that is not working for the bedroom slide out, But the slide out is completely in. I don’t have access to the screw that hold the motor in place that is normally accessible from outside when the slide out is out. How can I remove the motor?
Thanks.

See page 18 to get started. It tells you to try resetting the controller. If that doesn’t work it then tells you to remove the 2 cables from the controller and push the slide out. If you don’t have access to the controller you can remove the wiring from the motor by accessing them from the inside (still won’t be able to remove the motor until you get the slide out a couple inches to get at the screw). This removes power from the controller which I believe is holding the motors in place electronically like a brake. You might also try disconnecting all power to the trailer (shore, battery and solar). Give it about 10 minutes to dissipate any residual energy and try pushing it out. You might need 2 or 3 helpers to push the slide out.

If the motor is seized up (like rusted or damaged) you won’t be able to push the slide out. You’ll have to do a lot of disassembly to basically remove the slide tracks and push it out a few inches.

Good luck. Let us know how you do.

Since your Sanibel is manufactured by PrimeTime(not Forest River/corporate name), I would contact the PrimeTime division directly.
I had a PrimeTime TracerAir TT and called them a number of times for help.

Hi, we finally tried 3 things as found on différent videos and discussed with repair guys.
1). Put 12 volts with an external battery on the 2 pins on the top of the motor. This worked on the replacement motor I had purchased but not on the motor that was in the RV. The 2nd pin in the back is difficult to touch but I think I was touching it.
2) Try to push the slideout even if the motor was still there with the cable disconnected. This didn’t work. We were only 2 persons to push.
3) Break the motor from inside. Remove the cap, cut the top, cut the middle and force it out. It worked for me but I was scared to break something else.
I just need to put the new motors now.
Thanks.
