Slide out problems again-Understanding the issue

I've posted last month on my rear slide out quit working in my new I5, and this forum has been great. I had the exact same issue on my front slide out yesterday. After driving from a trip, the front slide out (not rear) quit working when setting up camp. Last time it was the rear slide only. It would make a small motor noise with the out button, and the same for the in button (only after pressing out first). The fix was easy from the last post I made on the limits having to be reset, but I want to get to the bottom of what is causing the issue. I've had the identical slim rack on my 2020 Winnebago View on a full wall slide out for 3.5 years, and didn't have a single issue with it. The only difference between that slide out and the one on the I5 is the in and out buttons are different. On my Winnebago, it only had a simple momentary switch for in and out. No other features or reset buttons, limit adjustment, or fault code read out. Just a simple limit switch that you could hold in longer after stop to synch the motors (on my I5, holding in the buttons extra longer does not do anything so it obviously works a little different).

I've read the complete sticky on the slide outs and this doesn't make any sense to me. My procedure is park, e brake, shut off engine, level, restart the engine, and then operate the slide. I have 400amps of lithium, and they are always at full charge, so I do not believe it has anything to do with low voltage (I've plugged in and ran generator too). Something is causing the limit to quite working (I forgot to mention that there are no trouble codes flashing both times this happened). This can't seem normal for the slide to just quit out of the blue.

Any ideas and where I should start troubleshooting? I've seen several different types of buttons that operate the slim rack, and trying to figure out why different manufacturers use different buttons.

The buttons are "auto stop set" and "manual stop set".

Auto: single momentary switch, sets the stops when the motors torque out (press and hold for 1.5 extra seconds or something like that)

Manual: this allows more precision over setting the stops. Want it, not as tight....is one side coming in more than the other? You can operate just the one motor to bring it in flush".

We asked the same question about those buttons and were told "only travel trailers are using the auto switch. Motorized all use the manual stop set". I am still not sure I agree with or understand that logic, sine my sunseeker division uses the auto.

There are (2) ways we KNOW kicks out the stop settings.
1. When you operate BOTH slides at the same time. We stumbled on this as one guy was running them both out at the same time to save time. Kept losing the settings.

2. If you are running a slide and lose ANY required parameter, it will kick them. for example, if you are running the slide in and someone turns the key off. Or releases the e-brake.

Supposedly another division had another thing that would do it, but no one has ever told me what that was (and I have asked).

Brian, thanks for the information. I'll keep an eye on any repeats and see if it can be narrowed down. I personally always do the slide outs, and definitely only 1 at a time so I should be able to monitor if there is anything triggering it.

As for the controllers, the latest parts list on Lipperts site has the auto programmable "motorized" part number 700156 available.

I'm tempted to update the entire slide system to VROOM slide system just for a piece of mind, but they have a very long backlog, and I'd prefer to use my RV as much as I can. I did find the bedroom slide controller mounted under the closet on the floor in between the left and right drawer. almost impossible to get at if the slide was stuck in the in position. An access panel at the front face of the cabinet near the floor may be more convenient. Just a thought.
