Slideout Support

Have 2024 Isata 3, 24FWSFX. This has a full driver-side slide out. When open the slide out is supporting 2 recliners (more weight when someone sitting there), clothes closet/storage area & 2 food/storage units. When I measure from the ground up (on a flat surface), the outer portion of slide is at least an inch closer to ground, i.e. sagging.
I'm concerned over time this is going to create issues with the slide working properly.
Does anyone recommend or have comments about using slide out supports to level the slide out to minimize pressure on slide vs. sidewall? These are readily available on Amazon and not expensive.

Thank you in advance.

Slide out supports are not needed for modern RVs and may cause damage when used. Do some research on them before buying. They are sold everywhere as people still buy them along with all kinds of RV supplies that are not needed but are heavily marketed.

So no, do not use them.

And slides will typically slope a bit to the outside for roof drainage.

... and if your coach settles on a soft parking spot or your levelers fail and start to retract, you will do serious damage to the slide.

Understand, but slide out has an awning, All water pools in center of long axis of awning. Have to blow off before closing. Hopefully enough time to dry beforehand.

You'll find mixed reviews on slideout covers/awnings. I don't like them, our last Class A had them and I find them to be a pain.

Curious, how can supports damage slide out?

Thanks,

Datsdad, if you use the quote function in your replies, it makes your responses easier to understand by including the post and poster you are referencing.

Here is one of countless articles about slide out supports. I like his point that slide manufacturers do not make/sell supports and advise against them. https://www.rvtravel.com/davesolberg-1/

Do some research for yourself and make your decision on supports. It is your RV and you can do anything you want with it.

If you install a slide-out support and the motorhome sinks into the parking surface (soft ground.... soft dirt after rain) or your levelers lose pressure, the slide out supports will put significant pressure under the slide and the coach lowers and then potentially push the slide mechanism out of alignment and / or cause something in the mechanism to break or even damage the slide floor.

Slides

We have had trailers with slides since 1995 seven trailers and all and I’ve never had a problem with slides. In fact, I don’t even know if anybody uses a support for their slide. And most manufacturers don’t recommend it. I’m not a little guy, if anything happened Because it’s too much weight in the slide we will probably get it. And never had Problem.

Just looked in the campground and about 600 campers most with slides ...zero with slide out supports.

Slide will be fine. While that slide might be considered "full wall" it is really not. it is queen bed, small wardrobe, sofa or dinette. Many true full wall slides are king bed, wardrobe, sofa AND dinette. The 24FW slide is concidered pretty lightweight. A little slope is natural
