The customary way to block a sideout IN is to place a couple of blocks on top of it. They need to be just long enough to fit between the wall and the back side of the fascia (trim piece) at the top. 2x4 scraps will work fine.Do you have any photos?
we were able to manually move the slide in and out
To manually retract, did you remove both motors at the same time? I've seen videos of other systems where they used a jack to provide support but Lippert's own manual doesn't mention needing anything.
Did not remove "good" motor. First reset the the controllers by holding the reset button....We learned that holding the motor button on the top of the touch pad while pushing the IN or OUT button would move the good motor about 9 inches before it would stop. Then pressing the top button again would give us another 9 inches. During the movement on the "good" side, it was necessary to push or pull the "bad" side manually to keep the slide "square" and not binding. This video shows the location of the buttons.....
Was the bad side easy to push in while the good side was moving? Don't the motors have brakes?
If slide was out all the way you can get to the motor from the outside under the wiper seal . there is normally a screw holding motor in on the outside also . then you can pop motor up and push slide in very easy
Consistently changing things . it's hard to keep up from yr to yr even day to day sometimes . one model will have one thing and then another unit same model will have it different .I saw this reply while viewing "interesting" threads and wanted to share that Lippert has apparantly made a change in the Slim Racks that makes changing the motors from the outside problematic.....

I cannot. It used to be that the motors could be changed out from either side.
At some point, LCI changed to a new "H-column" where the motors can only be accessed from one side. We declined to go to this new column that was supposed to be more "stable", but after about a year they discontinued the column we used, and we were forced to go to their new version.
So on the interior, you can pull the bulb seal and change out the motor.
On the exterior, you have to remove the metal column face. It can still be done, it is just more involved.
The benefit it would seem, is that without a notch in the exterior maybe they prevent water getting on the motor?
Hence the blue line in my signature block.Consistently changing things . it's hard to keep up from yr to yr even day to day sometimes . one model will have one thing and then another unit same model will have it different .
Right now our Motor #1 is not working- what motor did you get as a replacement- supposed to be camping for Fathers Day and had to scrap that due to the slide not moving IN - stuck OUT - also - where the heck IS the motor??? You are so right- there is no clear cut way to see where the heck this sucker is ??Wanted to share my experience with a slim rack slide out problem. 2022 FR3 34DS bedroom slide would not retract....fault code flashing that stops needed to be reset. Discovered that motor #2 was not operating....motor #1 would move the slide, but no movement from motor #2. Swapped touch pads, then motor controllers with no change. Removed moulding to get to motor. Replaced motor with a $150 motor from Ebay. Lippert wanted $737. $150 motor worked great....problem solved.
Note to Forest River....sure would like to see videos on how to get to the motors when it becomes necessary to remove them (including moulding and confining interior walls.)....both in the stuck open and stuck closed positions. All FR3 & Georgetown owners should know how to do this in case mobile repair on site may be unlikely.
While there are some basic similarities, the FR3 has never used the Schwintek system. The later ones use the SlimRack system. Earlier ones used the BAL Accu-Slide cable system.First, one should have a printed manual at their disposal. It is available on-line for free. It shows how to diagnose a motor issue. It shows how to remove and install a motor. And it shows how to synchronize the motors.
For the exact motors, I purchased a pair from AMAZON for 119.95 total.
2pcs 236575 RV in-Wall Slide-Out Motor, IG-42 (10mm) Motor Assembly, 300:1 High Torque Gear Ratio Compatible with Lippert Schwintek in-Wall Slide System (Three Year Warranty)

Different motors and different syncing process.

It's not an issue. When ours was new we had a slide binding so we rejected the delivery. I was showing the dealer tech where the binding was occurring from outside by running the slide from the app.
When we went back in we saw the bed slide had actually snagged the carpet under the bed and ripped it as easily as Superman could rip a phonebook in half, binding and all. Didn't even bog the motors down.
Which slide is that?
When you run it back in you're not compressing the tube seals the same amount and you can end up with a leak inside. But you gotta do what makes you comfortable.
