Sofa bed mattress replacement

We have just purchased a used 2015 Prime Time Crusader 294 RTL.

The mattress in the sofa bed requires replacement. The dealer tells us that it is a bizarre size that they have never seen before, and cannot find. They say the mattress was 48”x62” - which does not make sense to me. They have already disposed on the mattress, so I cannot verify the measurements.

I appreciate that RVs have their own unique sizing, but would expect that there is some standardization in the sofa beds.

Can anyone advise:
1) what is the proper mattress size
2) where I could obtain a proper sized mattress

Thank you.

Does the sofa bed have any tags that may indicate who made it?

There are mattress manufacturers that will make a mattress to your specifications, both online or locally.
However, you'll need not only the dimensions but the thickness of the mattress for that bed to fold up correctly.

You might get help from the service department of the rv dealer who can usually order replacement furniture. Or look at somewhere like RecPro who sell replacement furniture. I know you're not looking for new furniture, but sometimes you can get dimensions from the specs.

Thanks for the ideas.

I've reach out to Prime Time to see if they have information as it is original to the build. We did not think to check for tags on the sofa, as we were dealing with a number of items with the dealership on the day relative to the hide-a-bed .... all the modifications (i.e. solar installation) and repairs that the dealership was supposed to do prior to our picking up the unit were not done. This includes the mattress replacement. In this case, they just took a piece of foam and (poorly) cut it to a size much smaller than the hide-a-bed frame. Apparently they cannot find a mattress.

So to say we are not impressed with the service department is an understatement.

I'll reach back to the dealership to see if there are manufacturer tags on the sofa.

Something to consider.... On our previous 2011 Lacrosse 303RK the mattress in the sofabed was an inflatable. Maybe that's why it's been so difficult to find a replacement. If you contact Prime Time through their contact page, with the specific VIN #, they can more that likely steer you in the right direction.

Good luck and keep us informed. :trink39:
