Spare Tire Location

Just got our first RV (2019 Coachman Prism) and just established this account!

Previous owner placed the spare tire on the bumper with an aftermarket standoff frame and bracket. I want to place a cargo carrier on that same bumper and would like to get that that spare out of the way.

Wanted to know if anyone has used the BAL Hide-a-Spare on this or any other RV. Lots of stuff online, but it all seems to be trailer related. Can I install one of these on the frame under my unit?

FYI - I got under the unit to inspect the frame and found that it already had a factory installed cage for a spare. Problem is the stabilizer jacks have a bar connecting the two rear units - this bar crosses right over the cage, essentially locking it in place.

Any help, ideas, or advice will be greatly appreciated!

It does have a hitch receiver, but I opted for the bumper mounted cargo carrier, as I thought it would have better stability with the two point attachment.

Just my opinion but that tire would seem to create a fair amount of twisting force on the bumper.

Here are a couple of links that show what I did to mount the spare tire on top of the bumper and put a bicycle rack on top of the cargo rack. My bike rack would not fit with the tire mounted on the factory supplied spare tire mount. Similar to yours but a bit more vertical. No 45 degree arm.

My hitch is rated for 300lbs of load. Not for towing, just load.

I put mine underneath with a bracket from Amazon. Works really great. Ugh, already had to use it...
