I'm getting ready to do the basic maintenance on my Cummins-Onan RV QG 3600 LP generator, Model: 3.6KY-269120R, Spec: R.
Cummins lists the parts needed (air cleaner 0140-3280, spark plug 01267-0275), but two oil recommendations: 10W30 or 15W40.
Question #1 - which oil is better for year-round camping? We'll be hitting both Arizona summers and Colorado winters.
Question #2 - Spark plug gap - 0.025" is listed, but I found a reference (partsfortechs.com) that specifies 0.020" for LP 3.6KY and 3.3KY gen sets. They also said torque to 13 lbs-ft. I couldn't find this info from Cummins. Seems like good info to me; any disagreement?
Question #3 - Most genny MX kits include a fuel filter. Not for LP Propane, right? Duh!
Question #4 - What size spark plug socket do I need?
I've read that a socket set universal joint is VERY helpful as well.
Thanks,
