I wanted to let other RV'ers out there know to stay clear of National Covers (nationalcovers.com) and to never do business with them! Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with!
I ordered a custom cover from them for our travel trailer and when I ordered it gave the salesman the make, model # and length of the travel trailer. It came in a week and a half after ordering in which all seemed fine until I went to install it last night. Granted this was 2 months after taking delivery of it and I have been busy as many of us are. The cover did not fit one bit and it sagged in the front along with back. I took several pictures in which I sent to the salesman this morning who said to get with customer service in which I did. Come to find out they only offer a 30 day return.... Yes, I should have installed it when I received it, but was going on their fit guarantee which is posted on top of their home page and going on the dimensions along with the other information I gave the salesman it would fit 100% - WRONG!
To ship it back would cost me over $125.00 and they want to charge me with a 20% restocking fee - over $100.00. Not going to happen... I am going to take it over to a friend of mine here locally who has a canvas shop to have it modified to fit properly.
Ok I am off my soap box... I wanted to let others out there know what I went through and to stay clear of this company!!

Time for a beer or two!! :trink39:

I just received an email from customer service and they have really stepped up! They are taking the cover back with No Re-Stocking Fee and Paying for the return. They are also making a New Cover for me for $N/C + it will be the correct size... I Hope...

They sent me an email late Friday asking for me to give them the year, make, model and length of my travel trailer. I replied back to the email yesterday first thing in the morning and they just replied back to let me know.

I will ship it back tomorrow and lets see what returns.... Stay Tuned....

Cheers! :trink39:

National RV Covers are TRASH

S2 Expedition Cover

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! The first RV cover lasted less than a year. The roof straps on the replacement RV Cover are rotting out in less than 5 months. 2 covers and less than 2 years of function! This company is an absolute SCAM!!!

You get 1 replacement under the warranty, I actually tried to repair the cover so when I put in the claim it had been over a year and I fell into the discounted replacement category. The original purchase was 40% off. The warranty is discounted from the full retail price and they wanted me to pay almost as much as the new one. I complained and got them down to just over $200 for the replacement. Now, after 4 months of use the roof straps are rotting off completely. I submitted a claim and they said they have already fulfilled their warranty obligation with a replacement cover, end of story.

I am going to take it over to a friend of mine here locally who has a canvas shop to have it modified to fit properly.:

I used our local canvas shop thirty years ago for a boat cover. Still holding up to this day but I will admit I do store the boat inside when not in use.

Had them make a bicycle cover for me spring of 2022 so I can take my bike with me. Been full timing with it on the back of my camper since then. Still holding up well after being in the elements since then.

I just checked out some prices of the stuff at National Cover, no way the local shop can compete with their prices. But they do last so maybe they do?

My bike cover cost as much as some of their boat covers. I was quoted $450 for the bike cover and when I picked it up she said $400 since it did not take as long as she thought. Told her to keep it and am happy with it and I am sure it will still be in good shape ten years from now. I have no idea what a boat cover would be now. But everything they make is custom fit, they need the equipment for the job.

Only problem is there is no way to make a camper cover with the same material, you could not lift it. The bike cover is heavy and it goes on and comes off almost every day in the summer. Sometimes I think I should just use that one for travel and get another cheap one for when the bike is sitting next to the camper.

I wonder what kind of life expectancy your local canvas shop would think their covers have if you showed them the material?
