Sub floor heater vent
I have a 2020 Rockwood MiniLite 2104s. Have asked dealer and searched several other places and can not get a definite answer. I live in Utah so we can have a 60 degree day that goes down to 25 at night. I boondock a lot so my water tank heaters are not an option.

The question I have is - does my trailer's furnace have a duct that send heat into the sub floor that "helps" down there. Not too worried with my circumstances with the 3 tanks freezing with freezes overnight - but the individual lines and connectors. So, just want to know for sure if any heat is being sent down there to help when furnace is running? Know can not depend on it with sustained freezes - but really wanna know if it has this duct or not.

thx

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the TT/5th Wheel section's Rockwood sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to a Rockwood product and are not general tech questions.

Heater is under your sink?
Have you removed the panel and look to see where the ducts go?

Different camper but I solved the problem on my camper by taking one of the ducts to my living area and setting it up to blow into my underbelly. May or may not give you some ideas.

Looks like an answer to your question here.

Not on ours. Ours does not have the L shaped counter. There are two ducts out of the heater. The heater is under the sink in our configuration with one duct to the bathroom venting out of the shower pan. The other duct vents under the oven to the the main space.

It appears the L shaped kitchen counter version has the heater under the oven with one duct to the shower pan. I'm not sure if the 2nd duct that should be for the main space vents heat out the converter side or the end of the L.

The slotted cover (under the sink or the oven depending on your 2020 configuration) is easily removed. It is held on with 4 screws typically with the square head style bit. Should be easy to open up and check.

We've had our unit out for weeks at a time boondocking in with overnights below freezing and daytime temps above freezing and not had any issues with freezing.

We've had several issues through out the years with water lines leaking.

The pex lines have been ok with the exception of the hot line for the bathroom. The flexible lines have been another story. In warm weather no issue. In cold weather...the lines to and from the pump, filter and toilet all have leaked with the pex style clamps. Those have all been replaced with stainless steel screw type clamps. I removed the filter from the system the first month we owned the trailer. In it's fifth year now and the toilet lines both ends were leaking. I had to knock out the panel behind the toilet and replace the clamps for both ends of the hose to the toilet. I replaced the hose as well as it was easier to cut it off the pex T in the cabinet in that confined space. If I was smart, I'd have torn the cabinet apart and changed that line and tightened the fittings for the outside shower when I switched to the Dometic 310 toilet. Would have been a 1000 times easier with the toilet out of the way.

We've never winterized our trialer. We've had a few hard freeze warning over the years but we've always stored the trailer with fresh full and greay/black mosly full and kept the heater set at 60 degrees stored beside the house. No issues with stuff freezing.

If you have a few days with the weather below freezing as a high, that may becme an issue.. Happy camping
