2024 rockwood 5th wheels have torsion suspensions
2025 have new spring slipper roller suspensions

I'm thinking they went to springs to save money. I'm wondering if the torsion supspension is a better ride quality

thoughts please

Moved thread from the General Community Discussion section to the TT/5th Wheel section's Rockwood sub-forum since the OP's post is specific to Rockwood products and not general community questions.

IN theory the Torsion axles are better, but in my experience they aren't much different. Also a lot depends on the angle of the torsion bar. Axles come in angles from -12 to +25 or even +30. Plus means pointing down, minus mean pointing up.

Personally I think the best ride comes from reducing the tire pressure to fit the application. Though my tires say "Max 85", I run them at 55-60. And when I go off road, I often take them down to 20psi.

As another thread I read mentioned,Trailing Suspensions with Shocks give the best ride. You'll find that on high end off road trailers.
