I know that propane tanks have a pressure relief valve that “burps propane” out when the pressure gets too high. So my question is, besides hosing it down in the heat, what are some other options that you all use to keep the propane tank cool in this heat?
Umbrella? Popup Tent/Shower? Canopy?

Or do you just leave it alone?

Thanks
Kevin

Moved thread from the Surveyor sub-forum to the Propane Systems sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to Propane and not Surveyors.

There is always an expansion area inside the tank. If the pressure goes up, the vapor returns to a liquid state. If the pressure is low, the liquid becomes gaseous. The moral of the story is, Don't be concerned.

You shouldn't need to do anything If you have a propane tank that is venting it's time to talk to a propane company. Cooling it down with water won't hurt but it shouldnt be nessary.

If the tank is exposed to direct, hot, sunlight, shielding it would be a big help. Even if it has a cover it would help to give it some shade which can be as simple as placing a piece of cardboard in the path of the sunlight.

If it's not venting don't sweat it. As said before there's expansion space built in, even with a full tank.

I don't worry about it. That's what the tank cover that came with the trailer is for.

I've been out in 100° ambient in full sun and the hot water heater, blackstone and cooktop still worked as intended.
