I hate a tire, oil or hitch thread like the rest of you but looking for tried and true suggestions for a good highway tire designed for towing.
My setup is:
2024 Ram 3500 Laramie SRW Crew Cab 8' bed Cummins
Stock tires are Firestone Transforce 275-70-18
I pull a 32' TT that weighs in at 14k loaded

The truck is setup perfectly for the stock wheel size so I don't necessarily want to go with a bigger diameter tire. I just want a better tire.
Anyone running a all season tire with an E rating that they love?

I am. Michelin LTX A/T 2. On top of being a great tire, they also have a 60,000 mile treadlife warranty. They ride great, quiet, wear well, tow well, etc. Can't beat 'em. And yeah, same here, I'm running the stock 18" size.

Michelin as well.
I've run the LTX M&S (now M&S2) for 30 years.
A couple years ago I switched to the LTX A/T 2 for a little better traction on wet grass/sandy soil and snowy roads during non-towing season. They are a great tire.

My 2024 Super Duty came with Bridgestone tires and so far I hate them.

If you are looking for a highway tire all season: I have had good luck with Cooper Discoverer HT3 10ply E load range.

Michelin as well. I had 32500 miles on 2500 Ram when I sold it.Tires where like new and road and handled great. Later RJD

X2. Been running Cooper Discoverer AT3 (a little more aggresive) and really like them.

On the farm, we moved away from Michelin (too many problems and not enough support) and tried a few Goodyears and Toyo. Settled on Cooper in general.

3rd for the Michelin LTX/Defender. On all vehicles I’ve run for the past 10 years including my current TV. From a Honda CRV to an F250.

Incredibly happy with it.

That’s interesting, I tried the At3 and with its large pads I found the traction wasn’t as good and they got real noisy about half way through the life. I have almost maximum rated weight on the Michelins with three different trucks and no issues. We all have different experiences. Cooper is now Goodyear.

Continental all the way ! having used both the michelin ltx and the continental

I'll never run Michelin again . I run the HT terrain contact . never a problem out west off road rocks some mud and snow .

I stuck with the Firestone Transforce AT2's. I have no problems with towing stability or wet traction. I pull a 30' 5th wheel that weighs in at 9,500lbs loaded.

Tires

I'm with D W, Goodyear Wranglers. Got rid of the factory rubber for the Wrangles. Nairy a problem. 3/4 ton Ram heavy duty, long bed. :)

I run cooper but think it’s the ATP II on my SWD 3500 I like them the Nexen on my Ram dually weren’t bad

So what are you trying to accomplish? Your truck is a 24...have you worn out the Firestones already? I'm not having any issues 2ith them towing a travel trailer with my 2500. FYI, may be just the camera angle, but that truck looks really low at the back and high at the front. If you are having handling or sway issues, the tires may not be the culprit.

What is wrong with the Transforce HT's? I have run 2 sets on my Class-C motorhome on Chevy 3500 and 4500 chassis since 2018 with no problems. I am running LR-E 235/75R16.

I don't know what they are like on a class C but those are the worst tires I've used to date. They perform great early in their life but that is short lived on a 3500 Cummins Ram. 12k miles and they are half worn out for me and not usable in winter. Wet traction sucks as soon as you get through the siping...at 12k the truck will push or the rear will slide out way to soon.

Maybe it's the motorcyclist in me but I do brake and corner testing on a regular basis. I like to know the limits.

Pass on this tire for your truck.

Tireman9, is that perhaps a typo and meant to be 225 (not 235). I have not ever seen the 235/75R16 in a Load Range E

Note the truck in question is a one ton 3500 SRW, Ram 2018 is using 18" tire not a 16" tire as someone has stated.

I would suggest a "NITTO DURAL GRAPPLER" tire. There is one size that should fit your truck an LT275/70R18E 125/122R which is rated for 3640LBS at 80PSI.

Another one that might fit could be a LT305/70R18E 126/123R which is rated for 3750LBS at 65PSI. A good tire shop should be able to say if this tire could fit on stock rims or if you need aftermarket rims.

I like the idea of aftermarket rims than you can switch between towing tires and the stock tires and rims for the winter months.

I am running the 17" Nitto Dural Grappler tire on my 2008, 3/4 6.7L Dodge Mega Cab truck.

The tire size I am using is an LT285/70R17E 126/123R which is rated for 3750 LBS at 80PSI. These are mounted on Mickey Thompson rims.

My stock size is LT265/70R17E 121R which is rated for 3195 LBS at 80 PSI

I do have two sets of tires and rims, one for winter (stock tire/rim) and one for summer towing seasons. They are changed out and rotated in the spring and late fall. Both sets are going to age out before they will be worn out in mileage.
