Tires on Sandstorm

I bought a 2018 29ft Sandstorm Trailer in January 2019. I made one trip in June of that year and one of my tires started cracking as if some sliced it with a knife. I called Forest River and they said you have to take it up with the tire manufacture. I ended up buying a tire and then two months later another tire split. I am really tired of buying trailer tires that don't last more than 1 to 2 years. I cover my tires and they are sitting on wood and not concrete. Any suggestion on buying tires. I need to buy a ST 235-80-16. Do you think a truck tire like a LT would work better? Thanks.

It's hard to really ascertain what might be the tire problem without any kind of pictures. Do you have such you may can post of the damaged area.


Also, if you stay with that size listed above, that usually is a trailer only size (ST) and you will not find it in a LT tire.

Good afternoon. What your saying about your Sandstorm tires does not surprise me. I have a 2015 Sandstorm, and the factory tires are not of good quality. They are probably load range D also. Do yourself a favor and buy some good name brand tires in a load range E before you have an accident. That's what I did. Zero problems now. Good luck.
