Took my car out for an oil change and ended up 'screw-ed"

"Titan" Mike Rename

Well, you'll definitely have to change your moniker. I think we should all have a contest to come up with the best name. "Ford Mike" just doesn't cut it. Neither does "F-150 Mike". Maybe "Booster Mike", or "Eco Mike". Congrats on the truck.

After all the $$$$ I've spent this last week I think "Poor Mike" could be in the running

Congrats on the new F-150. You don't need to change your name; My "handle" has been the same since high school. Lincman is from what I drove back then (a 1984 Lincoln Town Car) and the 983 is derived from, my birth year 1983 (983) so it's Lincman983...been that for 20 plus years. I haven't had a Lincoln since 2004

True, but as someone had already suggested, “TurboMike” would sound pretty cool!

Beware, those oil change things are a gimmik. They get you in the door and the next thing you know you are leaving with a new vehicle. Happened to me last fall. Started with an oil change at a dealership. Then a phone call from the dealer inviting me to come back by. I ended up trading my 2016 Mazda for a 2018 Volvo. I absolutely love the car, and knew I wasn't leaving without it. They did try to rip me off big time, but eventually gave me the deal I wanted.

But, if it weren't for that oil change...

Years ago while my wife was sick... not an oil change, I went grocery shopping. Left the house in our Subaru, came home in a Honda Accord EX. The guys at the car lot even moved the groceries to the Honda.

Wife doesn't send me out grocery shopping by myself anymore.

I'm planning on just undercoating the white wheel wells too. Just waiting for warmer weather. Might even look into spray on bed liner if a DIY kit isn't too expensive.

I bought my truck used and it already had spray in liner from Line-Ex. I'm amazed at how tough that stuff is. I landscaped my back yard a few years back and had literally tons of rock, gravel and DG in the back which I shoveled out. I can't find a scratch in the stuff anywhere

How about "$68000 oil change Mike"! :trink39:

Just one recommendation, Get a professional company to do your bed liner. You'll be way happier with it, unless you have extreme skills we don't know about.

Congrats on the new truck!
So bummed they halted the heavy duty payload option. Heard there was a rumor that it will come back ad an f200.

I agree with this. I had my 2019 2500HD Line Ex'd at my favorite body shop. Superb job and tough as nails. I considered doing a diy and am glad I didn't.

My 2003 Duramax was Line X'd when I bought it in 2007. I've used and abused it for 16 years and it still looks good. I've tried to use bed liner material for several projects over the years, but it never seemed to hold up that well. Not sure how much difference there is in different brands, but most of the professional bed liner jobs I've seen have held up well.

Your post got me drooling so I visited the Ford site to price a new 2024 F350 XLT with the 7.3L gas engine. $70K. Gonna need $20k of incentives to even get me looking.

you will love that engine, I find I keep switching to eco mode so the fuel pedal is less reactive :)
