Travel Reward Cards

This is addressed to Canadian members - Has anyone had any success using Cdn. travel rewards/points credit cards in US to accumulate points. We travel to Florida every year in Georgetown and use regular non rewards credit card for fuel camp sites etc. Was wondering if we're passing up opportunity for future air travel etc.

We use ours in the US just as we do in Canada and accumulate like normal...only problem is the rewards cards are becoming more frustrating to use to redeem towards air travel. Little to no flights available or too many blackout dates. We collect Air Miles and have used them lots over the years, but for the past year or so it has become extremely frustrating, to the point that we are seriously thinking of pulling out and looking at alternatives. Have had little success in the last year in redeeming on even domestic flights of any kind. I hear Aeroplan is not much better, may be time to consider a cash back card instead.
