I have a blind that requires string replacement, and am unable to figure out how to remove the solid valance (which is approximately 9 in top to bottom) in order to remove the blind itself.

Does anyone have any experience with a valence this large, and ideas on how to remove it?

Thanks.

Well when I finally figured it out, it was so simple that I am now embarrassed that I even posted.

Yes, I should have done that.

It was embarrassingly simple. All I had to do was look up behind the valence panel and nose around the narrow area between it and the blind a little. I found screws holding the rigid valence panel to L brackets coming out from the wall. (Even the most basic knowledge of such things should have led me in this direction without having to resort to posting on the internet.)

As fat as my hands are, I was able to get up there with the proper driver and remove them, along with two longer screws that held the bottom vertical part of the valence to the wall. At that point the entire assembly dropped off, and with removal of three readily visible screws, the blind came off for repair.

Even though they say there are no stupid questions, something like this sure makes me feel like there are. 😇
