Coming out of Denver on I-70 I started down that first 6% grade and was trying to apply a light brake (3 bars) and truck and trailer shook violently.

I had a 6% grade. 2 days ago and I had no problems.

What could cause this. I had the front alignment. Checked last week, tpms on truck and trailer indicated all was ok.

I thought my signature line was showing.

Truck is a 2011 GMC 2500 HD Duramax pulling a 2013 356 Puma toy hauler.

Well now since his truck did not show up in his signature I was just guessing. The dreaded Death Wobble for Fords has been around quite awhile. I have an F250 but have never encountered the dreaded wobble. If you Google Chevy and death wobble, it appears that this also effects Chevies. Mostly it has to do with some loose of bad steering parts. I dunno maybe something is loose and the down hill jaunt made it worse. Google Death Wobble and see if it fits. There is even Youtube videos, go figure.

And guess what, I'm a member on the RV.net board and if you search death wobble you get two pages worth of reading.

Thanks, t chevked lug nuts on both and want see any sign of any seal failure

I would have thought the folks that checked the alignment would have caught OT.

Actually I've seen pretty violent death wobble on an older motorhome, so RVs are not immune ;)

Technically speaking, warped rotors pretty much don't happen. What causes the pulsating brake feel is uneven wear and/or uneven material transfer from the pad onto the rotor. The weird thing is that it can show more or less depending on brake temperature and pedal pressure. A few years back I had a Grand Cherokee that did vibrate and shake under light braking on a long downhill but had never any problems when braking normal or hard.

Check your u joints, that is what my semi did. U joint just starting to dry up, worth a try!

As stated there is no such thing as warped rotors/drums. It just dont happen.

From my experience that vibration you felt was most likely from the rear brakes/drums.

I would say from getting overheated and the rear brakes may be over adjusted.

over adjusted the rears grab before the fronts and dragging them down a 6% it would rear its ugly head like you experienced..

Just my opinion though.

Its worth taking a look at when I get on level ground

Thanks
