Ok, I know to stay outside the park. I am researching best way to get into and around the park. Thinking of staying in Visalia. Anyone done the shuttle from Visalia and used the park shuttle to visit the sites. Will not be any long hikes. Looking for easy and short only.

Thank you.

Using a shuttle is fine, but I have never like them. Hard to access "your stuff." Sequoia is not nearly as crowded as Yosemite and a much easier place to drive around.

Look at Riverbend RV Park in Sanger, CA. It is on California Highway 180 and is a lot easier to drive up to the Sequoias rather than a shuttle from Visalia. We've stayed at Riverbend a number of times, and when we go to visit family and friends in the Fresno area, that's where we stay. Quiet at night and you're right on the Kings River.

When I was working in the park I stayed in Dunlap just outside the park. it was only a short easy drive in every morning.
Dunlap is above the valley heat or fog [ depending on the season.
Good Luck DR

If you are set up for dry camping, just camp in the park. I spent 4 nights in the park campground in 2017. It was nice and quiet other than the neighbor using his construction generator every morning to charge his battery. They have water and a dump station, but not at the camp site. Then it is easy to get around the park. You can find all kinds of information on the park trails at the park web site. Go to NPS.gov and then search for Sequoia NP.

Just make reservations early at Recreation.gov.
