We bought a Forest River Forester last fall and it has a wallpaper backsplash behind the kitchen counter and stove. Is it possible to replace wallpaper with an actual tile or glass or some other kind of backsplash and if is, how much work would it be.
I really don't understand, you pay all this money for an rv just to have a fake backsplash and there isn't that much of it because there is a window there also

Check out Home Depot or other big box stores. HD has "back splash panels" that look like glass tile (various colors), copper, stainless, etc. They are approx 12" square (I think) and have an adhesive backing. You cut them with scissors or a razor knife for the size you need. I want to put them on the kitchen wall and above the bathroom sink. This is also on my "honey do" list.

You didn't say what kind of rig you have, I suspect the reason for not adding things like tile or granite black splashes boils down to the Mfg process 1. cost and 2. weight.

companies are tapping into the 1/2 ton market for tow vehicles so they have to make these trailers as light as possible and affordable to most folks. unlike the big Class A diesel pusher market.

Mine also has wallpaper

We have a Forest River Forester Class C, 3011DS. I thought it would look better with real backsplash. I understand about weight but with the window behind the counter there wouldn't be enough back splash to add a lot of weight, as long as you watched what kind you buy.
THanks for all the advise

The back splash panels I referred to in post #2 are a plastic material, look like the real thing, and do not weigh much. You can probably google it to see what it looks like and get more info. They are called "Smart Tiles".

Hi Rockygirl, check out this You Tube video where they show you how to install stick on back splash tile. No, not as good as real glass tile backsplash, but way easier, won't crack and fall off, and looked great when he was done. We have thought about doing this to our Wind Jammer but will be trading in a year anyway.

Search for smart tiles on the forum

I agree with you when I was talking about weight and cost I meant from the factory. I want to add some sort of tile back splash to my rig and think the stick on type are the way to go.

Thank you. They seemed to be fine...we didn't cook a lot in the trailer. Usually outside or at least when we could.
