Water damage question

I would like to get an opinion from some of you regarding a water damage claim.
I have a 2018 cedar creek silverback. I was in Oregon and Washington a couple months ago. One day I noticed that I had water rolling down my wall underneath the main bedroom slide out window.
Long story short... obviously there was a manufacturing error on the fifth wheel since I’ve only owned it for a few months. I have water damage underneath both windows in the bedroom slide out. Mold has grown underneath the windows. I found out that my wall behind the headboard of the bed is water soaked as well. I found mold in the front closet in the same room. The mold in the closet ruined several items of clothing and several pair of shoes. Mold underneath the bed as well. Come to find out that I have moisture in almost every corner of this trailer where corners and slides are located.
I have contacted forest river and they are really trying to work with me. They want me to allow Amish Family RV to do the repairs. (Amish Family RV has a great reputation from what I’m hearing) They are located in close proximity to the manufacturing plant. They have offered to completely fix the unit and extend my warranty to assure I have no future problems. I have been extremely impressed with what they have offered at this point. However, here is my question... I have always heard that a water damaged trailer is never the same once water starts seeping in, and that it will never totally be sealed properly. In speaking with forest river, they have assured that the cedarcreeks are made with wood that can be replaced without worrying about delamination.

Does anyone know if this information is correct?
Can this unit be adequately repaired without worrying about future water damage?
Would you accept a brand new unit that has endured all the water damage that this unit has taken on?
Would you be content for them to repair a mold infested trailer?

I know that if the damage supercedes the value of the repairs, there’s a good chance that it could be bought back from me.
I understand there can be times when a unit isn’t manufactured correctly. I do not feel that this is typical for cedarcreek but I’m not sure that I’m comfortable with a repaired unit.
I would appreciate anyone that is willing to weigh in on this and how you would approach this, or if you would be willing to have a unit repaired (that is only a few months old), or would you ask for a replacement fifth wheel?

I appreciate your input.

Thanks

Orvan Fry is the very best there is, I would let Orvan fix the camper. If after the camper is fixed and you still have problems Cedar Creek will be there for you. My Creek is almost four years old and the factory is paying to have my front cap repainted. Last year Orvan replaced the rear cap plus did some work for me that wasn’t under warranty and something Cedar Creek didn’t even install on a camper but the factory paid for it.

Sorry for your issues. I agree that that is uncharacteristic for Cedar Creek & I think they will do everything they can for you. I also agree on the reputation of Amish Family.
Document EVERYTHING you see and can get to before, during (if possible) & after the repairs. Keep copies of photos/emails/correspondence to & from everybody. Even though they have agreed to extend your warranty, I would ask if they would also cover the cost of an extended warranty that specifically cover structural issues.
Before any action such as pleading with the manufacturer or a legal action, the manufacturer gets the opportunity to "make it right". There is debate on whether "lemon laws" pertain to RV's but usually, for automobiles, I think the norm is the manufacturer gets 3 chances to "make it right" :(

No experience with Amish Family RV, but based on feedback on the forum, you are probably better off there than anywhere else.

I would prefer Amish RV Family Services about 4:1 over the factory. They will find your problem, and they will fix it. I cannot guarantee anyone else on earth will be successful, but they will. CC often sends warranty work to Orvan. He is busier than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Orvan is honest to a fault. He will tell you whether this is salvageable, fixable, or not, and what it takes to get it fixed.

I for one wish CC would stop making 3 levels of trailers and concentrate on just one.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I greatly appreciate it. I’m feeling more comfortable with Amish Family than ever before. I’m glad they are letting him look at it.
Now it comes down to working out a schedule and getting a time frame to fix it. Apparently he is out until the end of next week so it will be a few more days before I get an answer on when to bring it in.
I will let you know how it all works out.

It would not surprise me for Cedar Creek to get rid of the Hathaway or the Champagne. The fewer models a factory builds the better for quality control
