ISSUE SOLVED! Unsure on how to delete the original post.

Hello there. First time on here. Many thanks in advance for any advice you can share. Ok. We had local outfit winterize our RPod 191 (Hood River Edition 2021) last year. Yesterday while de-winterizing and getting ready for our first trip of the year we realized our hot water heater isn't filling up. What's strange is ALL faucets in and out are running on both the cold and hot sides (hot side running cold). Steps I've tried are: sprayed out the hot water tank (there was a bit of muck but not a lot), replaced the A-node rod, checked and re-checked the shutoff valves (as far as I can tell it's a two valve system). It seems strange that cold water is coming out of both hot and cold faucets if there's no water in the hot water tank. Any ideas? This one's a head scratcher (for me anyway ha ha).

It sounds like the valves are still in bypass mode. That will let the water circulate throughout the camper without going into the water heater.

X2 Which water heater do you have?

1. By Passed water heater valves (behind water heater.?
2. When you removed the anode rod did water come out. If not see #1.
3. May need to open relief valve on the water heater to get water in or a sink valve.
4. Burned out water heater element running it with no water??

Moved thread from the Towing, Tow Vehicles and Hitches sub-forum to the Appliances and Electronics sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to an Appliance and has nothing to do with Towing, Tow Vehicles and Hitches.

Reference the picture, in our system, the valve in the blue line should be open as shown. This allows water to flow into the heater.

The valve in the red line should be open as shown. This allows hot water to flow into the system.

The valve between the RED and BLUE lines is the bypass valve. It should be closed. Thus being closed, it is preventing the water flow between the hot and cold water lines.

Be sure the water heater is full of water BEFORE turning on the gas burner or the electric heating element. Failure to fill the water heater can cause permanent damage or a burnt out electric element.

How did you solve it? It may help others in the future who are searching the forums for similar problems.

Thank you everyone! You all are the bees knees. Indeed it was the valves. Seems they weren't turned all the way. Ten heads are better than two that's for sure! Ha ha. I would reply (or at least thumbs up) to you all individually but I can't figure out how to do that on here. One day I'll figure it out. Thank you all again. Much appreciated and thank you for the warm welcome. Happy camping. :)
