Hi! We have a 2022 Forester 2501TS, which is new to us. When we turn on the electric water heater, nothing happens. When we turn on the propane, the water heater runs for about 30 seconds and shuts off. It’s a Dometic dual water heater. Any comments on what might be causing these problems? I’m sick of boiling water to do my dishes. Thanks!

One of the first things to check, is that the bypass valves are correct.


There is a possibility your tank is dry and is being bypassed. The water coming out of your hot taps, could be from the cold water line if the water heater is bypassed, which when bypassed ties the cold water lines into the hot water lines. See this thread.
