What are this cables? ISATA 3 RW

Does anyone know what these cables are for? I have 4 each of these in a drawer and have no idea what they are. I think they are some type of sensors but not sure. This is on 2020.5 I3 RW.

Infrared extenders.
If you have equipment behind a door or in another room, you can plug these in and place where you can aim your infrared remote to control them. There is usually a control box to mount them to. The one looks like the block to aim your remote at, the other looks like what goes on the DVD player or other device. There should also be a control box or something like that.
