I was searching existing threads for something along these lines, but nothing directly related seemed to be out there.

It's been one of the interesting things to me in RV sub-culture and there seems to be little consensus. How do you refer to your travel trailer?

RV, Travel Trailer, Rig, Coach, Camper, etc., etc.

There was a thread about this a couple of years ago should still be out there........

For us the Camper is called the Camper, the Truck is usually the truck but the DW and others have called it PepPe' (long story) the 66 GT' in my avatar is the Yellow Mustang and so on we are not big into names.

Sounds like our house - the wife's car is "the car". My car is "the Mustang", the truck is "the truck", the trailer is "the trailer", the motorcycle is "the motorcycle" (or sometimes the "Old Wing" - it's a 42 year old Gold Wing), and the house is "the house".

We even call our son "the boy" most of the time.

Seems to work for us.

Ours is gypsy sol

In another two weeks I'll be calling my Travel Trailer "Home".

For Sale sign goes up in front of my home for the last 20 years in roughly 3 weeks. My Son has already started to call me Nomad Dad as I plan to just travel until I get tired if it.

The money pit!!
I have put more money into camping in the last 4 years than I have most anything else, excepting the new HVAC system in my house.

Although not technically correct since it is a travel trailer, I usually refer to it as the camper or RV. Many days, it is where I'd rather be, but work and actually making money still takes precedence.

Our Roo 23SS can be either the camper, trailer, or Roo. It is never-ever referred to by the pretentious term "RV."

The '57 Thunderbird is simply "The Ford."

What makes RV pretentious? Curious minds want to know.
