Hubby wants to install a vinyl fence post under our rig to store the sewer hose. We're trying to get ideas as to the best location. Does anyone have a suggestion? Pics would be great if you've done it on yours.

near the axle would be safe place less chance of hitting the ground

I looked at my underbelly it uses wood that I could screw into
if I ever did it I would simply screw straight through the underbelly plastic into the wood
it's not heavy BUT unscrew the underbelly first to have a peak inside . make sure there is nothing important above the wood like a water tank or electrical wire

keep the screws short and use galvanized

PS use a fender style washer spread the force from the screw head

People usually don't do that on a motorhome. We bought a large clear plastic tub with lid that would fit in one of the basement compartments, the first one to the left of the fuel door. I keep four sections of sewer hose in there capped off along with a couple of elbows. The "slinky support" is also in that compartment along with a box of gloves. The black tank flush hose sits coiled up on top of that tub.

The compartment to its left has a smaller plastic tub with lid that holds all of the fresh water hoses and fittings.

Fence post cover/sewer hose holder placement on a Georgetown is going to have limitations.
I did follow one down the road that had one mounted to the tow hitch between the back wall and the bikes they were carrying.
Hopefully someone with a similar model will chime in.

Didn't notice it was in Georgetown sub forum
yeah... would be difficult to do with all them storage compartments running down the side

And now for a random pic from our 2020 GT5 34H5. :)

Target usually has the best selection around us. I measured the size of the outside compartment and inside cabinet door openings and found every one we needed at one Target.

A 2024 Georgetown has much larger basement compartments than ours. Shortly after ours was built FR introduced a new Rotocast mold and also raised the external walls 3" to "square off" the inside ceiling. The ones built in the last five years have about 25% more basement storage than ours does and a taller pass-through area.

Ray, I hope you know I did not mean your earlier reply was irrelevant. Your advice is always spot on.
I should have typed " Hopefully someone with a similar model, that has installed a fence post cover, will chime in." ;)

Haha, no. Some people have problems with their reading comprehension skills. While I've never noticed that with you I relied on my sig line in that post and forgot that people using a mobile device still do not see the signature line, even with the new software. I do need to be more cognizant of that.

I have used a PVC pipe with a removeable end cap on the past two motorhomes. Drill drain holes in bottom of each end to......drain anything that happens to come out of hose. Attached to bottom of coach. On DP it was just in front of rear wheels. On the GT7 I have had it just behind rear wheels then moved it to just about where the hookup is inside the door. This allows easy access to pull it out or put it back in. Never had any issue with the tube hitting anything. Keeps sewer hose outside storage compartments and it is MUCH easier to just push it in or pull it out.

Amazon sells a sewer tube holder for $58 that can be mounted on top of the rear bumper.

I installed a square fence post under our TT i found that some of the newer stinky slinky’s don’t fit well in a round holder or the rear bumper.
This item can easily be constructed from a fence post cover. I installed mine on the bottom of the rear bumper using glavanized pipe hanger straps and pop rivets. Works well for me.

Mounting Fence Post under the trailer is a great idea for the sewer hose and more.
We have two mounter under both of our last two trailers. One for the sewer hose, and the other one for the outdoor carpet. Who wants that inside anyway.
Because there is a lot going on under the rear of a trailer, I found that right in front of the axle worked best for me. Buy two endcaps for each post you want to install. I used bungie strapping screwed near corners so they wouldn't snag on hose or carpet.
