Why won’t both of my A/Cs work??

Again, I believe they were working at PDI, not working now …… 8 months later in hot weather. Thanks for your helpful comments.
Original unit has a minor refrigerant leak, so it took a while to leak down. The unit can be re-charged, after adding a Schrader valve, and adding a/c sealer at the time of re-charge.

My view, if replacing with a new unit, what is to assure there is not a minor leak in the new unit? Nothing!

If my warranty understanding is correct, the original unit had a 12 month warranty. It has been installed and used for 9 months. Thus the replacement will have the balance of the original warranty, or 3 months.

Nah, I'd have the original units serviced, recharged and a/c sealer added.

The PDI serves at least 2 purposes. (a) to familiarize the new owner with the features and functions and operation of the systems. Everything must operate and operate correctly and the new owner must understand how to do this solo. (b) to identify any flaws, defects, and etc. which are to be corrected BEFORE the new owner takes possession. Don't let the excitement of a new rig overtake the job to be done.

It is also wise to have someone else, a 3rd party, video each and every item. Retain for future reference when it is cold and raining and you have no lights. etc.

And I would add, use the time to identify the resources available to trouble shoot each system. OMs, FAQs on the company's web site or their forums; research this even before your start the PDI and assemble your own pdf of stuff that you think will be challenging or that you read on forums/FB have challenged others; and assemble your questions to use during the PDI that don't make sense during the reading.

Hunh? We have very few issues with Firefly. Mainly when the options are not properly selected, which does not seem to be the case here, just bad A/C’s.

Again, 8 months down the road, not helpful now. 3rd RV, 6 year RVer, have done 3 very good PDIs. But certainly helpful on next purchase.
Suggest that you follow bclemens advice and have them diagnosed at the dealer. They are covered by warranty and that should pay for replacements.

Get a local mobile tech that does warranty work. I've got one up the street from me that deals with all major brands and he stays busy.

So, currently the EMS is lighted, so I’m guessing it is on. I did toggle off, but no change, still running at about 10 amps.
On my 2024 GT5 with GE A/C's and FireFly system, the A/C"s both run about 11-12A when running and compressors on, so there may be a refrigerant issue. I just set the temp, fan to auto and cool or auto (heat pump or cooling) on the FireFly system.

There recently was a recall on the GE units for the soft start caps with overheat issues. If the caps are bad the compressor won't start and should trip the breaker in the panel due to stall current, which doesn't necessarily seem to be your case.

The thermostat in our rv is hard to work with.

The DW made a copy of the instructions on paper. Sat there to learn. I hate that there is a thermostat on button. Turns it on, but does not allow it to operate. You then have to press it a second time to turn the units on. The heat simply come on with one press of the on button.

You must have a really old Rv so suggest you post on the forum for that age and type vs just throwing this out there as part of someone else's thread.
I have no idea what you are referring to but then you have chosen not to tell us what equipment you have.

Unfortunately, technology is being updated much faster than people are being updated. Thus, the old adage of RTFM becomes more important.

Apologies - I missed you were the original poster. But I have another question - you write that you are pressing the COOL and the AUTO and the LOW buttons? I think you only have to press COOL or AUTO and it selects the speed. If you press Auto it will switch between HEAT and COOL on its own.

The OP was logged in at 8:01pm last evening - just didn’t post anything.
His last post anywhere was on Dec. 22.

I can fill you in. OP had an appointment at North Trail. We found a mobile tech that could come out sooner. Mobile tech replaced both A/C's and everything was covered and working. Customer was concerned that the gray line crack was "VERY, VERY difficult to get to and surrounded by wires". The mobile tech reached out to us, repaired the gray drain line.

I am not sure if we were being billed direct, or we were reimbursing 100% of the cost...but customer was very disappointed in our response, the coach itself, and was done with RV'ing. Isata 5 was too small after their Dutch Star.
